Profile of Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology MIMITThe Institute
Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology is brought up under the able guidance of Board of Governors, headed by Hon’able Technical Education Minister, Govt. of Punjab. Located in the Green Field Enclave, Malout (Punjab), the self contained campus is a beautiful academic and administrative three storied building spread over 25 acres of land which has been magnificently and aesthetically designed by the Chief Architecture of Punjab. MIMIT is the only Govt. Institute to offer both MBA and B.Tech programs in Punjab. At present, it is offering four undergraduate courses, i.e. B.Tech.-IT, CSE, ECE and ME and one postgraduate course, i.e. MBA.
MIMIT is 3rd of its kind in India to offer certified courses recognized by SUN Microsystems. The institute has a certified academy for training students in collaboration with CISCO Inc. The institute offers an inspiring learning environment, which transforms our bright young scholars into talented, creative and disciplined professionals. The Institute also has a centrally Air-Conditioned double storied Computer Center equipped with a number of computers, mainly with C2D configuration. It is connected to LAN and has the latest technology, licensed software and peripherals along with around the clock internet access through 6Mbps leased line(1:1). On its lush green, pollution-free campus, it has well designed and graciously built separate hostels for boys and girls having capacity for 350 boys and 150 girls respectively with all modern facilities.
I feel satisfied to be one amongst the glory of educationist in Engineering and Management fraternity of MIMIT, Malout engaged in shaping the destiny of young Engineers and Managers ever since 1998. The Institute has the distinction of being one amongst the five institutes established, managed and promoted by Govt. of Punjab with operational control of Board of Governors headed by Hon'ble Minister for Technical Education, Punjab. It is only Institute amongst the Govt. Institutes which is offering two distinct courses i.e. Engineering and MBA. The Institute is moving fast to develop as a pioneer in the field of Management and Technology.
The Institute has spectacular multifaceted infrastructure. The Institute has state-of-art Laboratories, Spacious Lecture Halls, Well Stocked Air-conditioned Automated Library with DELNET and E-journals Facilities, Workshops, separate Hostels for Boys and Girls.
The Institute has already produced hundred of Engineers and Managers who are occupying a prestigious position and are brining the laurels for MIMIT. I on behalf of the all faculty, staff members assure to all the students that discipline, academic environment, placements, human resources, infrastructure and technical teaching learning process will be improved with your participations, with which Institute will progress in the coming years.
In the times to come, the institute will open up many new avenues and opportunities for each one of you. I encourage you to take advantage of these many opportunities for inclusive growth and to maximize your learning from your experiences both in and out of the classroom from faculty, your seniors and fellow-students of different backgrounds and perspectives. I hope you all will live and lead a health life and will enjoy your studies at MIMIT. May God bless you with rewarding careers and successes in every walk of life?
To my mind an educational institute is not just about bricks, mortar and concrete, but about building character, enriching minds and about enriching experiences that lasts a lifetime.
Life is not a set of instructions but is a series of experiences and learning process. Engineering is no exception. This is where MIMIT steps in - to make a difference and where learning is not just series of instructions but a passion, which goes beyond books, beyond instructions, beyond learning horizons.
At MIMIT, we believe in learning by capturing set of experiences and enable one to explore new realms of wisdom.
The unified diversity element among student projects the integrated spectrum of prototype India as most of the students belong to the states of differing language and local culture gather with single minded focus to succeed in life.
With a student strength of 1400 plus for total four Departments of Engineering and a discipline of Master of Business Administration, the efforts are directed to accommodate and address the expectations of each student by the way of enabling them to participate in the seminars, workshops organized in and out of the institute.
The institute is also engaged in supporting the students to refine the necessary skills, attitudes and the aptitude towards the corporate placement process in the campus by the way of periodical competitive tests and group interaction exercises.
All these efforts are pursued assiduously to identify the functional gaps between MIMIT and the premier institutions of the country like IIT's and NIT's so as to narrow them as soon as possible. The institution has taken a great leap forward in the past few years and the results are encouraging.
