About PCET
Punjab College of Engineering and Technology, Lalru Mandi is situated at 30 minutes distance from Chandigarh and 20 minutes from Ambala on Ambala-Chandigarh Highway. The Campus is 5 Kms off the highway near village Malakpur, located in a pollution free environment conducive to the mental, spiritual and physical development of the students who come to join this fast growing institution. Spread over a vast stretch of 35 acres, Punjab College of Engineering and Technology is striving to become a synonym for growth, spiritual progress, intellectual development, fortification of the skills and competence and the desire to contribute to the Society, state and the nation.

Admissions

Admissions to P.C.E.T. college are made on the basis of merit in the CET-2004 conducted by PTU, Jalandhar for B.Tech. The advertisement for the tests is given in the newspapers by PTU. The eligibility criteria and other details are made available in the respective brochure issued by PTU, Jalandhar. The students must submit their completed application form to the institute after the allotment of the institute during counseling at Jalandhar by PTU. These forms are available in the college prospectus.

Conduct Rules
GENERAL RULES FOR ALL STUDENTS

(i) The candidates selected provisionally for admission must deposit the fees and original certificates at the time of admission failing which he/she will forfeit the claim for admission and placement in the waiting list and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

(ii) The candidates admitted will be required to attend the classes immediately. The names of students who remain absent from classes for more than 15 days at a stretch will be struck off from the college Rolls without giving any notice. Every student is required to complete minimum attendance requirements as laid down by PTU Jalandhar.

(iii) All admissions are provisional and subjects to the final approval of the Punjab Technical Jalandhar, after completing the necessary requirement as per rules/ordinances.

(iv) Any candidate found medically unfit will not be allowed to continue his/her study in Institutions.

Punjab College of Engineering and Technology is a special name among the institutes which are catering to the needs of growing technical education in Punjab. Academic Framework
PCET aims at providing quality education in the Engineering disciplines. The latest and updated knowledge framework helps the students to acquire the best in the field. Alongwith it, the emphasis is also laid on imparting human value system so that the students should become responsible citizens and healthy members of the society after imbibing the human values necessary for becoming integrated personalities.

The work-culture at the College is environment friendly, disciplined and conducive to the acquisition of knowledge. The round-the-clock availability of the electricity, Library facilities beyond the college hours and Internet services round-the-clock help the students to become career-conscious and progressive.

Our Infrastructure
LIBRARY
P.C.E.T. Library represents the spirits of comprehensiveness and intellencutual richness. A gigantic reservoir of knowledge in the PCET disciplines consists of a large number of volumes in the Engineering subjects, and national and international journals. Sufficient space is available for seating of hundreds of students. Library services are available even after the College hours. The library is fully equipped with Delnet services.

TRANSPORT SYSTEM
Transport system is quite strong. A large fleet of buses ply from Patiala, Rajpura, Ambala, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula etc. to the College so that the students should not face any problem in reaching the College and going back home. Efforts are being made to add more buses to the system so that the accessibility of the transport system becomes easy for the students.

HOSTEL FACILITY
Hostel Facility exists for both boys and girls. The hostel environment is conducive to learning and tension free to enable the students to imbibe the spirit of healthy camaraderie. Mess is being run by an experienced contractor who ensures that fresh preparations become readily available in abundance and the hostel life becomes homely for the students.

MEDICAL CENTRE
Medical centre is being added to make the facility available to all the students to keep them healthy and strong to pursue their studies. The existing first Aid system is being upgraded to become a good medical centre to take care of the health of the students. The health of the students community is safe, steady and growing.

SPORTS
For an all round development of personality of the students, facilities of games, sports and cultural activities are offered. Through out the year, sports activities are carried out regularly. There is an ample space for sports ground. The students are motivated and encouraged to participate in athletic meets and inter college tournaments organized every year.

Sports activities are a regular feature for inculcating healthy habits in the students. Hockey, Cricket, Table Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Athletics etc. are some of the activities which are pursued throughout the year.

National Service Scheme to inculcate the students mind with social commitment and responsibility, regular social service activities are organized in the villages. The students are encouraged to participate in the social work to propagate among the rural about the importance of social living, eradication of social evils like illiteracy, family norms etc. The young students take keen interest in the social welfare activites.

INTERNET FACILITY
The Radio link connection with 2 mbps is available. The facility is open for all the students morning to evening.

INDUSTRY - ACADEMIA INTERACTION
Training and placement Cell exists in the College to facilitate the students to choose their careers with a variety of choices for growth and progress. The industry-academia interface helps the students to interact with the visiting recruiters from the prominent industries on the campus and also in the industrial settings. The students are provided wide exposure with visits to the industries, trade get-togethers and techno fares.

Industrial Training
Students are placed for practical training in the industry according to their area of specialization. Monitoring of training of students in different industries is conducted by faculty member of Training and Placement Cell. Analysis of industrial training is carried out on the basis of evaluation report received from the industries, matter content of the training submitted by the students and viva-voice conducted by the experts committee constituted as per norms of the institute.

Personality Development Programs
Series of personality development programs comprising of aptitude tests, extempore speech, group discussions, quiz tests are organised for the students to develop communication skills, leadership qualities and positive attitude.

Expert lecturers are organized for the students for the up gradation and updating their knowledge, skills and attitude, Career talks include topics such as jobs opportunity in various discipline , scope of higher studies both within the country and aboard.
