Profile of BRCM College of Engineering and Technology BahalBallaram Hanumandas Charitable Trust
Ballaram Hanumandas Charitable Trust Kolkata (BHCT), a CSR project promoted by Vikram-Pratibha Group of Companies, was founded in the year 1977, with an objective of transforming the much deprived rural area surrounding the Chaudhary faimilys ancestral village Bahal, (District Bhiwani), in Haryana, 30 Km North of Pilani. BHCT is headed by Shri Hari Krishna Chaudhary with active support of his brothers – Shri Shiv Kumar, Shri Mahendra and Shri Pramod and that of his son Shri Anil Chaudhary.
Shri H K Chaudhary holds the cause of education very close to his heart. It is his firm belief that for society to break the thresholds of mediocrity and to catapult to levels of excellence, great emphasis has to be laid on education. Education is the key to creating a society thats dynamic, productive, progressive, providing equal and fair opportunities of growth to all.
He inherited this salubrious and benevolent legacy from his august forefathers. Both Shri Balla Ram and Shri Chhog Mal Chaudhary, whose names are christened in BRCM, were men of lofty ideals. His father Shri Chhog Mal Ji was a well-read, educationally enlightened gentleman. Even his grandfather, Shri Balla Ramji was a social reformer of his time, whose revolutionary ideas and contributions were unique for that period. He was a non-believer in upper or lower caste but in humanism. He helped the poor, and played a key role in educational development, which was non-existent at that time. It was their firm belief that education is the strongest tool to transform any backward community or a deprived class into a strong and enlightened society.
Mr. Chaudharys avowed mission is to enlighten and visualize the pedantic capabilities of the young minds and widen the horizons of their thoughts which had hitherto stayed unexplored for want of good education facilities in Bahal and the surrounding areas.
In contrast to its remoteness, the founding members of BRCM saw the positive side to the whole setting: a serene and verdant ambience. Far from the madding crowds this hamlet holds the promise of imparting valuable education to fresh young minds.
The founders of BRCM are aiming to create an ideal Centre of Excellence, keeping in mind the best moral, ethical and cultural values coupled with the best infrastructural and human resource available. Our inspiration is drawn from the Upanishad prayer, which means – let noble thoughts come to us from all directions. We assure all students that we will spare no efforts in providing them quality and excellence in education.
BHCT undertakes a number of welfare programmes aimed at improving the quality of life of communities in and around Bahal. The Trust has actively contributed towards conservation of public parks, holy places and playgrounds, providing affordable tertiary health care facilities, conducting special eye care and general health check-up camps, co-operating with CAPART in rural sanitation projects, spreading environmental awareness by facilitating major tree plantation drives, promoting use of renewable energy, spreading awareness about water conservation and rain water harvesting along with use of drip irrigation systems. As responsible citizens, the founders of the Trust, right from the beginning firmly believed that providing quality education will result in overall growth of the region. A small but visionary effort has now turned this remote region into an Oasis of Learning spread over 100 acres in three different campuses.
BHCT heralded its educational initiatives through BRCM Education Society and established BRCM Public School, Gyankunj, in 1987, catering to the need for high-quality English-medium schooling, for about 100 villages surrounding Bahal.
Subsequently, BRCM Public School, Vidyagram, a premier Boys Residential School, from class IV to XII, was established to provide for all round development of students in a boarding set up. The School affiliated to CBSE is a member of the Indian Public School Conference (IPSE) and has students from all over India and abroad.
The success of the residential school inspired the Trust to augment its ever-widening and forward-looking vision by taking another quick leap into the field of technical education.
In August 1999, BHCT ventured into the field of technical education by establishing the BRCM College of Engineering and Technology (BRCM-CET). The College is duly approved by the AICTE and Government of Haryana, and is affiliated to M.D. University, Rohtak, for 4-year B.E. course in disciplines of: CSE, ECE, ME, IT, and EEE and also for Postgraduate (M.Tech) programme in Mechanical Engineering. For Students and Faculty of all its institutes, BHCT provides aesthetically designed, modern and ergonomically balanced classrooms, laboratories, workshops, sporting and recreational facilities along with all essential utilities and well equipped comfortable accommodation on campus.
The Trust is committed to the cause of disseminating education at various levels in different fields, offering young minds multiple opportunities to explore their inherent talents. BHCT further plans to add Medicine, Architecture, Business Management and Entrepreneurial Studies with Post-Gradute teaching and research facilities and many other vocational courses, thus enhancing learning possibilities from KG to various under-graduate and post graduate programmes. The Trust also aims to create a viable Industry-Institute Partnership creating an opportunity for all round integrated development of students suited for this era of convergence and globalization.

Dy. DIRECTOR-ADMINISTRATIONS MESSAGE
It gives me great pride and satisfaction to write about BRCM College of Engineering and Technology. The education scenario in the 21st century is quite different from what it is. We are passing through a tremendously changing process and our younger generation must be accordingly trained so that they can address these challenges effectively, timely and meaningfully.
A human being is a positive asset and a national resource, which needs to be cherished, nurtured and developed. Education is indeed essential for an all round development of society. In current national perspective, steps are required to foster among students a greater understanding of varied spiritual, cultural and social systems. Education should promote accepted eternal values to concretize unity and integration among the people.
Shri H.K. Chaudhary has been given a boon and new lease of life by the untiring effort. Under his progressive guidance, BRCM provides world class course content and learning environment through good faculty and excellent infrastructure. Towards completion of course BRCM ensures excellent campus placements too.
Thus BRCM-CET is Indias premier engineering college and is in the fore front of Technical Education. Being promoted by highly qualified and devoted professionals this college provides students with a perfect combination of conceptual framework and practical insight, which is relevant for tackling real-world engineering problems. We always strongly believe that values like honesty, sincerity and hard work are key to a life of fulfillment. We always look forward to those who change their lives with hard work and courage. The campus is lush green and provides a séance of health, i.e. a disease free body, quiver-free breath, a stress-free mind, an inhibition-free intellect and obsession-free memory.
BRCM-CET is addressing to the holistic development of students by adequate emphasis on co-curricular activities. I sincerely hope that the college will cultivate cherished values amongst the students and inculcate team spirit, scientific temper and above all passion for creativity and knowledge.
