About CASE
The Society named Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) was established on 2nd May, 2000 with a deep commitment to promote and propagate quality technical education. The commitment was translated into reality with the establishment of Institute of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (IEET) at Baddi in the year 2002. The Society, through this institute, has been Providing B.Tech. engineering (Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and MBA courses to the youth of Himachal Pradesh and other states of India. Two new departments, Computer Applications (offering MCA degree) and Civil Engineering (offering B.Tech. degree) were added in the Institute in 2008. Over the years IEET achieved the status of a premier institute in imparting career oriented education in these fields.

In the year 2007, the Society established the Institute of Pharmacy and Emerging Sciences (IPES) and started 4-year B. Pharm. course from that year. In 2008, one more prestigious institute viz. Institute of Management Studies (IMS) was started offering MBA course. All these institutes comprised the CASE Group of Institutes. The institutes of CASE Group are known for their academic excellence and their total commitment to uperiority in technical and management education with holistic concern for quality of life, environment, society and ethics. Through continued efforts of the Management, the Society has been able to achieve the status of a university incorporating the CASE Group of Institutes, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology. This university will continue to promote effective and innovative learning methods by using latest technology.

Message from the Chancellor
To realize a vision of promoting quality technical education, a society named Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) was established on May 2, 2000.

The Society established the Institute of Engineering and Emerging Technologies at Baddi in the year 2002 offering B. Tech. courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Informat ion Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Masters in Business Administration. In a short span of time, the Institute achieved a top slot in the state and students bagged top positions in the H.P. University. The efforts put in by well qualified faculty, streamlined system and hard work of the students brought laurels to the Institute. The CASE Society expanded its area of activity and added MCA and B.Tech. ( Civil Engineering) courses in the fold of IEET in 2008, opened Institute of Pharmacy and Emerging Sciences (IPES) in 2007, Institute of Management Studies (IMS) in 2008 and all these institutes comprised CASE Group of institutes. The idea of forming a university incorporating the institutes under CASE Group took its inception in the year 2007. The deliberations in this direction th followed and finally on 16th of October, 2009, it came into being. This aim was achieved through the concerted efforts of all serving the cause of our institutes.

Our effort at these Institutes has been to bring out the potentials of the young minds and to inculcate high standards of professionalism so that they are able to excel in the challenging and competitive world.

Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology welcomes you to this great seat of learning. This university has come into being initially starting from an engineering institute of Engineering and Emerging Technologies established in the year 2002 where it soon became a premier institute through the committed hard work, creating excellent academic atmosphere and well maintained discipline. It evolved wonderful environment conducive to learning , t eaching and research. It was the outcome of experienced and qualified faculty and the institute has been bagging top university positions in H.P. University, Shimla, year after year. In the year 2004 an MBA Course was also started in the institute and later two new institutes viz.

IPES and IMS were started in the years 2007 and 2008 respectively. These institutes formed the CASE Group of Institutes.

In the year 2007, the management of the Society, Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE), conceived the idea of establishment of a University with the incorporation of the existing institutes. It was on 16.10.2009 that the university came into being after getting due appr oval f r om the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the Gazette Notification was made on 15.10.2009.

About Institute of Management Studies, Baddi
An Institute in its infancy having been borne out from Department of Business Administration (an endeavor of the Society – Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering) in the year 2002, is unique in Management Education as it is firmly rooted in the local soil and capable of articulating the Indian ethos. Institute of Mass Communication Studies
We at IMCOS believe that media is tremendously changing and acquiring new dimensions. According to the latest FICCI report the Rs 587 billion Indian media and entertainment (M and E) industry is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13 per cent over the next five years. The industry is expected to reach Rs 1091 billion by 2014. There is an acute dearth of media students trained in the sunrise sectors of new media, broadcast, web, convergence, visual communication et al. Traditional media like print is also changing its constitution, and the focus is on newer communication technologies and content for different platforms.

Performance and attendance of students is sent to their parents periodically. The Institutes insist on regular attendance of students in classes, seminars and other cocurricular activities.

The spacious, well-ventilated and well-lit class-rooms have a gallery type comfortable seating arrangement. They are equipped with magnetic boards, overhead and LCD projectors. Tutorial rooms are also well equipped and offer effective close interaction of the tutor with a small group of students.

Wi-Fi and Central Internet Facility
To meet the challenges of explosive growth of information world over, a dedicated leased line is absolutely necessary. For this, necessary infrastructure has been created by owning a dedicated lease line of 2 MB bandwidth providing 24-hour internet connectivity through multi-protocol connection over Frame/Relay. There are more than 500 Pentium-4 computers centrally networked on Windows Professional 2000 platform. The bandwidth management software ensures equal bandwidth in the systems connected. The campus has a separate laboratory for accessing internet having 100 Pentium-4 systems connected to 2 servers (SMTP Mail Server and Data Base Server). The servers are connected to all the departments and hostels through high speed optical backbone. The entire campus including hostels are Wi- Fi enabled.

Conference Rooms and Seminar Halls
Seminar Halls and Conference Halls are aesthetically well designed and furnished in a state-of-the-art fashion. These are well equipped with modern audio visual aids and public address systems for the conducting seminars/conferences and undertaking discussion oriented activities. Seminars, conferences and workshops give adequate exposure to the faculty and students regarding the current trends in technology, management and industry.

Transport FacilityA fleet of buses are maintained to provide transport facilities at reasonable rates to the students coming from the neighboring cities of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Pinjore, Kalka and Nalagarh. There are various pick-up points for the convenience of the commuters.

ATM Facility
For the convenience of students and staff, there is an ATM facility of IDBI Bank on the campus.

Cafeteria and Tuck-shops
The campus has a spacious cafeteria with well-equipped kitchen to cater to the needs of the students and staff. It is a popular chill-out-zone providing vibrant ambience. A variety of eatables, food and beverages are made available at reasonable rates.

Adjoining the cafeteria are tuckshops providing fresh as well as packaged fruit juices, snacks and beverages. Telephone STD facility is also available here.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell
Institute of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (IEET) was allocated a grant of Rs. 8 lakh last year by the AICTE for the establishment of Entrepreneurship Development Cell. The cell has been established by Prof. Gulshan Kumar, HoD, EE, and Sh. Prashant Mehta, TPO, the Chief Co-ordinator and Co-ordinator of the cell respectively. The cell encourages the students to consider self employment as career option, helps young technocrats exploit their potential by setting up their own enterprises and provide them entrepreneurship training through modular courses.

Activities of the Cell
To conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness / Development Programs on full-time/parttime basis for final year students, alumni, working as well as unemployed professionals.
To conduct special courses for fresh degree holders for establishing an enterprise and its management.
To support skill development activities particularly catering to specific areas of requirement in the region.
To provide a platform to take up entrepreneurship as an alternative career.
To identify and provide solution for the problems of small scale business managements and entrepreneurs.
To provide training and technical up dating to entrepreneurs through variety of programs.
To support continual educational needs of personnel in areas of technology and management.

There are two hostels for boys (Sr. Boys Hostel and Jr. Boys Hostel) and a separate hostel for girls. The mess of each hostel is equipped with modern facilities. Each hostel has a Residential Warden who under the direction of Chief Warden ensures implementation of discipline and creation of an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Spacious and well ventilated rooms with adequate furniture and cupboards are available to give the students a homely environment. Girls Hostel is located within the campus and has facilities for indoor games. Special arrangements have been made for the safety, security and privacy of the girls residing in the hostel. To cater to the requirement of increased intake, further storeys have been added to Girls Hostel this year. Boys hostels are located at a short convenient distance from the campus and have facilities for outdoor games like badminton, volleyball, basketball and cricket. There is a shopping complex located in the Sr. Boys Hostel to cater to their day-to-day needs.

Facilities Provided

Vehicle for emergent exigency.

Security of residents organized through a security agency.

Hostel Rules
Students must occupy the rooms allotted to them for the session and no change of room shall be made without the permission of the Chief Warden.
The allotment of rooms shall be done at the beginning ofevery academic session.
All the students are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner and not do anything that may disturb others at study or at work in the hostel.
While checking in and out of the hostel premises, the residents must fill up the In-Out Register maintained by the warden.
Boys hostelers intending to remain out of the hostel for one night or more must inform the warden in writing before leaving the hostel and also must obtain Student Gate Pass from the warden.
Girls hostelers would be allowed to leave the hostel during holidays or otherwise only when prior written consent from the parents through letter or fax is received and permission to leave is granted by the Principal.
Names of the relatives/guardians, who are to be authorised to visit their ward residing in the Girls Hostel should be specifically mentioned and verified by the respective parents in the Hostel Registration Form.
Before leaving the hostel for overnight absence, the hostelers shall get the Movement Form signed from the warden and on return deposit the same duly signed by parent/guardian.

Strictly Forbidden
Ragging in any form.
Possession or use of alcoholic beverages/addictive drugs/chewing tobacco/ cigarettes etc.
Possession or use of electric stove, room heater or any heavy electrical gadget.
Any unauthorized person in hostel room.
Any kind of violence.
Playing music at high volume.
Playing of cards/gambling.
Cooking in the room.
Carrying of mess crockery in the room.
Moving of hostel property/furniture from the room. Disfiguring of walls/doors/almirah etc. and pasting of posters.

Important Instructions
No student will stay in the hostel during college hours, except lunch hours or with prior written permission of the Principal/HoD in case of illness or other exigencies.
All lights and fans must be switched off before leaving the room.
Ragging is totally banned. Anyone indulging in ragging will face suspension/expulsion from the Institute besides being charged with criminal offence case through F.I.R. under local Police Station.
Hostelers are themselves responsible for their valuables, cash, mobile phones, computers etc.
Last entry time at night in the hostels are as under:

Girls Hostel
(Outer Gate) : 7:00 PM
(Inner Gate) : 9:00 PM

Jr. Boys Hostel : 9:30 PM
Sr. Boys Hostel : 10:30 PM
Hostelers will follow the timings of mess and common room strictly.
All complaints against hostel attendants/servants should be brought to the notice of the warden in writing.
Residents should come to the dining hall in proper dress and are advised to avoid wastage of food. The Institute authorities can conduct surprise checks at any time. Violation of hostel rules or office orders/notices issued by the university institute authorities, from time to time, is punishable.
