Message from Vice ChancellorThe university is located in one of the most backward areas of the State. The Economic base of the masses is only agriculture. There is practically no industry located in the region. The industries established about few decades ago are no more in running condition.
The University has been given mandate to provide higher education opportunities to the deserving candidates of the region so that socio-economic upliftment could be initiated. Best way to achieve the goal set before the University is to provide education in agriculture development related courses. The University has rightly initiated several courses in this area.
This is a matter of record that resident of this region have excelled in the area of their specialization and are commanding due respect world over. As such the aspect of providing education for the world acceptance can not be over looked. To keep this aspect in mind, courses to take care of needs of modern time have been initiated in the University. The University has also affiliated an Engineering College located at Siwan. A Government Engineering College has already been sanctioned to be located at Chapra.
The University hopes that soon a medical and dental college shall also start functioning in the jurisdiction of this University, making it a complete University.
Bihar had been a centre of education in past. The Universities of Nalanda & Vikramshila are role model for this young University.
Keeping the ideals of these glorified centers of learning in mind; the University is in process of finalizing Master Plan for new campus on a land measuring 242 acres located towards North East of Chapra town. Once the University develops at its new campus it as hoped that it shall help in regaining the glory lost for the time being.
Launch of the web site of the University is a step forward to stay connected with the world, through modern technology and to provide information at the fastest pace. It is hoped that this web site shall serve the purpose that it is meant for.
University shall welcome all positive suggestions for its upliftment of curriculum or teaching standards.
Prof. Jitendra Singh
