All the three toppers are girls.While Khalsa College for Women students-Shilpa and Shivani emerged as the first and second toppers in the MSc final semester, Parminder Kaur of DD Jain College was declared as the third topper in the results, which were declared on Friday.Shilpa has secured a total of 88.86 percent marks while Shivani scored 88.43 percent marks. On the other hand, Parminder got 88.3 percent.Congratulating the students on their stupendous show, Khalsa College principal Dr. Varinder Kaur Thind and DD College principal Surinder Dua wished them all the best for the future and urged them to continue the good work. Declamation contest on Vivekanands birth anniversaryAn inter-college declamation contest was organised at DD Jain College of Education in collaboration with the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Vivekanand branch, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. Participants from 10 degree and education colleges of Ludhiana participated.The programme hosted by Ms Kamla Jain was presided over by the president of institution, Mr N. K. Jain. Seminar on personality development endsA seminar-cum-workshop on communication skill and personality development concluded at the DD Jain College of Education, Kidwai Nagar, here today.Dr Ranjit Singh, former Dean of the College of Agriculture, PAU, Ludhiana, and presently Director of the Communication Centre of the PAU, said communication, negotiation and leadership skills were the foundation of personality development. He said communication was the most vital concept and demonstrated on the techniques of focus group which primarily facilitated group interaction. The government departments and non-government agencies need to develop some innovative and result-oriented measures to address the issue of pre-birth elimination of females. PU youth festival concludesDD Jain College of Education, Ludhiana, witnessed festive ambience in the concluding day of Panjab University Zonal Youth Festival. Ms Nisha Sarad, DPI (C), Punjab, was the chief guest. She congratulated the host college for organising the youth festival. President Mr Narinder Kumar Jain welcomed the chief guest.Classical and group dances competitions were organised. In the classical dance category, Poonam of DD Jain College of Education, Ludhiana and Shashi Pasricha of GHGH College of Education, Sidhawan Khurd, bagged first and second positions. Workshop for NTT studentsA workshop on ‘Active planning’ was organised for NTT students at the DD Jain College of Education, Kidwai Nagar, here today. The workshop commenced with a welcome speech by Ms Chander Mohini, Principal of the college. The resource person of the workshop, Ms Jasmine, gave layout of various qualities for pre-school educators. She urged the students to improve upon their creative skills.Various activities were arranged for the students such as drawing 20 items with the help of two parallel lines. She stressed on the need of creativity at the level of pre-primary education. She said activities must be planned according to age, need and interest of the students. The workshop came to an end with a vote of thanks by Ms Anjali, a lecturer of the same college. Ms Bhupinder, Ms Sandhya and Ms Babita were also present on the occasion.
