Nursing institute students bid adieu to seniors

The 1st and 2nd year students of Victor Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences organised a farewell party for their seniors at Ranwan village near here yesterday.

On the occasion, an attractive and colourful show was put up by the students. Principal A.K. Arora advised the students to be dedicated to the noble profession of nursing which has global demand.

B.S. Garcha, director of the institute, wished success to the outgoing GNM batch in their nursing careers and said the results of their 2006 batch of GNM was 100 per cent with 7 distinction.

48 donate blood

Victor Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Ranwan, District Fatehgarh Sahib, organised a blood donation camp at their campus today, to celebrate the Nurses Week.

Dr Harvinder Singh, SMO of Samrala, inaugurated the camp in which 48 donated blood.

On the occasion, the principal of the Institute, Arora, spoke on the pivotal role of nurses in the society.

B.S. Garcha, director of the Institute, thanked all guests including the SMO.

Kirtan held at institute

Victor Institute of Nursing and paramedical sciences (regd) Ranwan, near here, organised a New Year function on January 9 to seek the blessings of the Almighty through Sukhmani Sahib path and kirtan. Later, a prize distribution function was organised for the outgoing students of 2003-2006 batch. Lt General K S Mann (retd), Director, Canadian Institute of International Studies, was the chief guest who gave away prizes to the students.

Director B S Garcha, commandant (retd) of the institute, said the institute was established in the year 2003 at Kharar. Due to changed policy of the government, now this institute has been constructed in 3 acres at village Ranwan as per INC norms. It had been participating in pulse polio, aids awareness, eye operation camps and seminars. The Principal, Lt Col Indu Sharma (retd), thanked the chief guest and other dignitaries.
