Profile of Watumull Institute Of Electronics Engineering and Computer Technology

The Hyderbad (Sind) National Collegiate Board was managing the National College in Hyderabad (Sind) long before the partition of India. The board was associated with the National Movement for the Independence of India. After the Partition of the country in 1947, the Members of Sindhi Hindu Community were compelled to abandon the college and migrate to India. Late Principal K.M.Kundnani was the Principal at that time. After the partition of the country in 1947, Principal K.M.Kundnani appreciated the need of his teaching fraternity and the community and initiated efforts for starting a college in Mumbai. He received active support and encouragement from Late Barrister Hotchand G.Advani. Both of them together founded the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board in 1949 at Mumbai. Late Barrister H.G.Advani was the founder President and Late Principal K.M.Kundnani was the founder Secretary and founder Principal of the first college started by the board and known as the Rishi Dayaram National College, Bandra, Mumbai 400050. The HSNCB is at present headed by Shri Niranjan Hiranandani as its President who is a Chartered Accountant and an eminent builder. Prof. J.K.Bhambhani is the Rector and Secretary of the Board. Prof. J.K.Bhambhani is an eminent educationalist, is the Rector and Secretary of the board, is the former Principal of K.C.College and has been associated with the association of the Board along with Late Barrister Hotchand G. Advani and Principal K.M.Kundnani. The Board members include Chartered Accountant, Eminent industrialist, Doctors, Engineers, Management and other Professional.

This was followed by a chain of Educational Institutions belonging to various faculties such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Education, Law, Engineering, Technology and Para-Medical. The institutions managed by the Board and affiliated to the University of Mumbai are as follows:

I hope you feel the same. One of the privileges of being an academic is that you always have young students beaming with hope and we can start a new. For me, that is especially true. I join you with High Hopes.

For many of us, this is a time of transition. I am buoyed by the excitement of joining you and entering upon a new adventure - being the principal of Watumull Institute of Electronic Engineering and Computer Technology (WIEECT). Many of us are new to WIEECT and anticipate with some uncertainty the prospects of changes in our lives. Others have been here many years and may feel unsettled by the arrival of yet another new principal in such a short span!

For all of us, the first days of a new academic year can open up our senses, sharpen our attention, make us more mindful of the world around us and the people who work beside us. It is only in the college life where we can learn the most, experience life most fully and open up our imaginative energies in new ways.

I want to set the stage for the year ahead. Over this year, I hope you will get to know me better, attend to my education, offer your support and guidance, and walk with me along the path that lies ahead. As I began to think about my own goals for the years ahead at WIEECT, I started by reflecting on what it means to educate and by extension, what it means to be an educator.

Education has been our means to instruct our youth in the values and accomplishments of our civilization and to prepare them for adult life. We have talented technical faculty who is preparing you to be skilled professionals. It will be our endeavor to provide you with excellent facilities and provide the environment where your hidden talents flourish leading to all-round development. Wish you the best in your life and career!
