Mahakal Institute of Technology (MIT) is established by Prasar Shikshan evam Seva Sansthan (PSSS), Ujjain in 2001. Within a span of only three years, MIT obtained the level of excellence in imparting quality education in the field of Engineering and Technology. Mahakal Institute of Technology is located near village karchha (on Dewas Road) which is 15 km away from the Ujjain Railway Station and 12 km away from Ujjain city and 22 km away from Dewas on the State Highway Ujjain Bhopal Road and 1.5 km from Ujjain (Datana) Air Strip. One of the major seats of spirituality, tantra and a commercial centre on the erstwhile Silk Route from time immemorial Ujjain than known as Ujjain or Awantika has been known for the holy abode of lord Mahakal (the Jyotirlinga) and the place where lord Krishna and his immortal friend Sudama accomplished their learning under the able of guidance of Maharishi Sandipani.
