Profile of St Margaret Engineering College

About SMEC, Neemrana
An ideal combo in the midst of Industries and away from thick civic populace. A vibrant centre of Engineering Education St. Margaret Engineering College, Neemrana popularly known as SMEC is surging ahead to match standards of high order. There are two factors some what unrelated to academics that give it its excellence quotient: ambience and location.
A natural picturesque campus spread over 25 acres of land on the foot hills of Aravali range (hills) where majority of the teachers also reside along with the students providing ample opportunity for constant interaction thereby offsetting its disadvantage of being away from big city centres.

Neemrana being an industrially live place of Rajasthan on the NH -8 is almost midway between the National Capital Delhi and the State Capital Jaipur (120 km from Delhi and 140 km from Jaipur). It gives a desired advantage of providing a conducive environment for Engineering Education.

In fact the industrial environment that cuts across Delhi – Haryana and Rajasthan in the form of one of the biggest industrial corridors on both sides of NH -8 starts from Delhi through Gurgaon, Manesar, Bhiwadi, Dharuhera, Rewari, Bawal, ShahjahanPur, Neemrana , Behror, Kotputli, Shahpura, Kukas and leading to Jaipur.

Infrastructure
The college is spread over 25 acres of fully developed institutional land of Rajasthan Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) at the foothills of Aravali. The institute is strategically located in an area where large number of national and multinational industries are already in existence. The campus has been planned to provide all the facilities required for the overall development of the student. The campus has been aesthetically divided into academic area, playgrounds and residential area. The neatly laid out roads lawns/ parks and the state of the art well equipped laboratories and library provide a conducive environment for teaching-learning. The campus has residential facilities for both the students and the staff. The college has more than 2.5 lakh sq. ft. covered area. SMEC has taken a conscious decision to further expand the activities of the college into newer fields. Reading effervescent and undulating market, it enjoys the image of considerable repute the world over.

Our new division CORPORATE INTERFACE motive is to provide solutions that work better than the rest. We strive the perfection and always try to match the demand and supply of the technical professionals in the market.

In todays scenario the fresh and young talents are not getting the opportunities. The basic reason behind this is nowadays corporate industry looks for true professionals who are technical as well as professionally groomed.

During the conduction of their technical studies the division will give some special sessions that will whet the skill set of our students so as our offerings and solution will be unmatched in the industry. Our focus is to amalgamate the academic/professional achievements with character building.

I am positive that competent and committed support, strong management team and its shared vision and drive will continue to create values for the college and the students so as they both get an edge. The college performance system build on the ethos of values and leadership while focusing on operational excellence, will accelerate our corporate division and succession planning with an added impetus to build leaders for the market.

Mission/Vision
Vision
Endeavoring to become one of the top providers of engineering and management education in the country and making available the appropriately qualified and skilled manpower to the world of work.

Mission
The mission of St. Margaret Engineering College, Neemrana is to strive for excellence in the filed of engineering and management education by
* by creating and developing first rate technical skills
* by Instilling high standards of discipline, ethics and values among the future technocrats and managers
* by shaping world class leaders who have not only technical / managerial expertise but also initiative, confidence, creativity and zeal to achieve their goal In particular and serve humanity in general

Success Story
Where Vision leads Mission follows. The Success Mantra is to dream big with dedication, hardwork and commitment to deliver at all ends - management, faculty and students. We may be small and young as compared to IITs/ NITs, but we aspire to turn our students as excellent technocrats if not with speed then with a special skin effect which can do wonders just as providing strength to a weak yarn. Today there is little gap in technical knowledge amongst the developed and the developing nations on account of free and fast flow of information and thus the course curriculum are almost common world wide and absolutely same in institutions of the affiliating university. Yet the quality of Engineers is different of different institutions. It is the culture and the infrastructure that determine the quality of the product.

The SMEC infrastructure that is coming up rapidly is a great help in providing the cutting edge in developing innovative skills of the students. The result of the University and the Placement record speaks for itself.

Why SMEC
Neemrana evokes memories of bygone eras, where the Aravali range meets the plains of Haryana, ruled by a dynasty of Chauhan Kings under the benign surroundings of lush greenery and protective, steep slopes of hillocks. The Neemrana Fort Palace is unique in design and structure.

After centuries of neglect of these areas under foreign rule, the slumber is changing into motivated activity.
The national and international tourists, statesmen requiring undisturbed peace for their serious deliberations and of course creative artists are veering towards the Neemrana Fort Palace day in and day out. On weekends there is hardly any vacant suite in the fort converted hotel.

The decision of Govt. of Rajasthan to build an Industrial Complex in the foothills has transformed life of this region. National Highway bristle with traffic on 24 X 7 basis. The restaurants and food joints flourish on both sides. The entrepreneurs from all states have gravitated towards this area to establish their industries be it bakeries or breweries, glass or synthetics.

Amidst this fertile land has emerged an Institutional Area. To meet the global demand of manpower in the field of Information Technology, Telecommunications and Management, a number of educational institutions have pitched their tents. The state and central governments, public sector banks and undertakings and foremost of all the philanthropic private education societies are vying with each other to open the institutes of education and training in these fields.

St. Margaret Engineering College is drawing students, not only from its surroundings, but also from metropolis of Delhi and Jaipur. The easy accessibility area, because of Delhi - Jaipur Highway (NH 8) , has added special attraction for parents and students of even far flung towns. Today, Neemrana is micro-cosmic. The managers in the industry and educationists in the institutes are creating a unique progressive culture. The young population of students and trainees are exposed to the global environment in their daily lives through right preparation and training for future global careers.

The Government of Rajasthan has rightly felt the pulse of these activities and selected Neemrana as a future world-class city in the National Capital Region. Neemrana is the knowledge city of the coming days. Information Technology will be the hub of this knowledge and an educational activity will be the foremost enterprise.

Again, Institute of vision and reach, St. Margaret Engineering College is going to show the way of all-round progress of knowledge and information. The Information Industry of Gurgaon is half-planned extension of Delhi. Neemrana will be fully planned, a much more modern and of course a city which will be the envy of the most beautiful cities of the world.
Those studying in its institutes and serving in its industries will remember themselves as proud pioneers of Neemrana – a city on the world map.
