As the Vice Chancellor of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, It gives me immense pleasure to invite you to explore the website of our University and have a feel of its several positive attributes, especially in relation to women's education to which the University devotes itself exclusively. Located in the Temple city of Tirupati at the Lotus Feet of Lord Sri Venkateswara, the University provides a salubrious climate for higher learning. Making a steady progress with the financial support made available by various funding agencies, the University has forged ahead to become a vaunted institution for women. The University celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its existence in the year 2008.

As one would perceive from different sections presented in this website, the University has made an all-round progress in terms of teaching, research and extension programs, with an avowed focus on applied aspects that would facilitate the women gain profitable employment. Towards this end we have recently started an EngineeringCollege , which is in the process of acquiring the required infrastructure and human resource to make it a full-fledged viable unit of the University. I am confident that the applied focus of this University will give the necessary motivation to aspirant women students to tread the path into its portals.

Ours is a multi-faculty and multi-disciplinary University that offers varied courses of a high standard, taking into its fold the fields of Humanities, Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences, Law, Engineering and Technology, and Business Management. Many of the courses in these areas are also offered by the University through distance education by our , which has 10 study centers in different places. Further, as a corollary to the Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP) of the Government of India, which is a joint venture of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the University has established a Technology Outreach Center (TUC), with the novel objective of promoting innovative ideas of intellectual individuals to convert them into tangible realities by providing the necessary financial assistance. The program is already making headway.

Members of different faculties of the University are actively involved in quality research, and have been successful in finding financial support for their projects from various funding agencies such as UGC, DST, DBT, MHRD, AICTE, CSIR, DFID, ICSSR etc. This has facilitated our University to make valuable contributions to the existing global body of research.
